On January 17, 2025, at an authoritative institute of oceanology in Asia, a Speedip V2+ mounted on a DJI M300 UAV was used to collect coastal seawater samples. During this mission, there was a northwest wind at force 2 (an average wind speed of 2.8 ± 0.2 m/s) and an average flight altitude of 15 meters. The stated operation time was measured from the moment the UAV was armed to when the mission ended with the UAV’s landing. Taking the scenario described above as an example, boat-based sampling required about 2,400 seconds (40 minutes) per operation, while Speedip V2+ sampling took 479 seconds – an approximately 80% reduction in time.
Taking the real user scenario described above as an example, the corresponding costs are detailed in the table below:

FAQs
-
What applications is Speedip V2+ designed for?Speedip V2+ is primarily designed for routine water sampling, forensic evidence collection, aquatic research, and emergency water monitoring. If your use case falls outside these areas, please feel free to contact Soarability* to explore whether Speedip V2+ is a good fit for your needs. *Email: inquiry@soarability.com Whats App

What is the maximum sampling depth? Can deeper sampling depths be customized?Speedip V2+ is equipped with a winch that can release up to 10 meters of rope. The actual maximum sampling depth depends on the UAV’s hovering height. Examples: · Hovering 1 m above the water surface → Maximum sampling depth: 9 m · Hovering 5 m above the water surface → Maximum sampling depth: 5 m Due to the limited space in the winch system, SpeedipV2+ cannot accommodate additional rope, and customized sampling depths are not supported. Speedip V3 will offer a significantly extended maximum rope length. Please stay tuned!
-
What is the maximum sampling capacity of a single task? Can larger containers be customized? The standard packing list includes a 1.1 L PMMA container, with 1.5 L PMMA and 1 L Stainless Steel containers for options. Customizing a larger container is not recommended, as it requires careful evaluation of the UAV's payload capacity, mounting space, Speedip's lifting capability, and potential interference with its millimeter-wave radar.
-
Does Speedip V2+ test water quality besides sample collection? No.
-
Does Speedip V2+ monitor water flow velocity besides sample collection? No.
-
Does Speedip V2+ support multi-point sampling in a single task? Why is it not adopted for suction-based sampling?Multi-point sampling in a single task is not supported. We did not offer suction-based design due to the risk of sample mixing and cross-contamination when using a shared tube in multiple sampling tasks.
-
Can target sampling points be set via web platform? No. The "Speed Cloud" web platform is no longer available for Speedip V2+.
-
Does the container require cleaning when sampling from different locations?Yes. Cleaning is recommended to avoid cross-contamination between samples.
-
Can users repair or replace the rope themselves after the emergency rope-cut function is activated? No, once the emergency rope-cut function is triggered, the unit must be returned to Soarability for rope replacement to ensure optimal performance and safety in future operations. Unauthorized disassembly will void the warranty.
-
What is the recommended interval for factory maintenance of Speedip V2+?Factory maintenance is recommended after 2,000 meters of cumulative winch operation, as indicated by the Health Management System (HMS).
-
Can Speedip V2+ be integrated with a UAV dock for scheduled automatic water sampling? It is theoretically feasible. Although Soarability does not offer a delicate dock solution, we can assist in connecting you with the dock solution providers if needed.
-
Can Speedip V2+ be integrated with UAVs other than DJI M350/M300?Yes. Speedip V2+ supports secondary development via its USB-C APl interface, enabling communication with other UAVs to transmit real-time sampling status and receive control commands. For detailed APl documentation, please contact Soarability. When integrating Speedip V2+ with other UAVs, please ensure: · A minimum mounting space of 25 x 18 x 35 cm · A payload capacity of at least 2.2 kg (when using the 1.1 L container) The following UAVs are not compatible with Speedip V2+: DJI Inspire, Mavic, Phantom, and Matrice M30/M4 series. Mounting Speedip V2+ on VTOL UAVs is not recommended.
-
Can the UAV still carry an H30T camera or Sniffer4D after mounting Speedip V2+?Speedip V2+ comes with a built-in downward-facing camera, and an additional gimbal camera is generally not needed. When using the 1.1 L container, DJl M350/M300 can still carry an H30T camera or a Sniffer4D by utilizing the dual gimbal mount and adjusting the Speedip mounting bracket to maintain balance. Please ensure: · The total payload does not exceed the UAV's payload capacity. · The center of gravity is properly adjusted for light safety.
-
How to achieve a fully autonomous sampling task using DJI M350/M300 and the Waypoint function? After Speedip V2+ is successfully connected to the UAV, tap as follows on the DJl Pilot app from the remote controller: "Flight Route" → "Create a Route" → "Waypoint Route" → "Set Waypoints" → Select "Auto" for Speedip V2+ → Set the "Relative Altitude" of Waypoint 1 → Set the "Relative Altitude" of Waypoint 2 → "Hover" for 10s → "ONdown" → "Hover" for 10s × 3 (30s in total) → "Calibrate String Length" → "Hover" for 10s × 3 (30s in total) Save → Upload → Start flight mission The hovering time should be adjusted according to the actual sampling depth. For step-by-step instructions, please refer to the tutorial video.
